Professional Diploma in Respiratory Therapy

Course Description:

This course is designed to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in respiratory therapy. It includes both theoretical and practical training. Hands on training and lab work are integrated in the theoretical aspect while the practical training prepares participants with skills required to assess and treat critical ill patients and patients with chronic respiratory related diseases by using therapeutic strategies consistent with best practices.

Number of contact hours:

The total theoretical and practicum hours are 450 hours, extended over a nine month period.

  • Theory: 150 hours (8 hours per week, 32 hours per month) for 5 months.
  • Clinical: 300 hours; 38 shifts (8 hours per week, 32 hours per month) for 9 months.
