Professional Diploma in Infection Control

Course Description:

This course is designed to expand participants’ knowledge and skills required to implement infection prevention and control in healthcare settings. The theoretical part includes major concepts focusing on infection prevention and control. While the practical training will focus on implementing the participants’ skills on the principles to plan, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control, whilst applying the program’s current strategies in various healthcare areas.

Number of contact hours:

The total theoretical and practicum hours are 450 hours, extended over a nine month period.

  • Theory: 100 hours (8 hours per week, 32 hours per month) for 3.3 months.
  • Clinical: 350 hours; 44 shifts (8 hours per week, 32 hours per month) for 9 months.
