Professional Diploma in Cardiopulmonary Perfusion Science and Technique

Course Description:

This course is designed to provide participants with knowledge and skills to provide effective care for patients requiring cardiovascular perfusion. The theoretical training will provide participants with the knowledge of perfusion such as equipment, supplies, cardiopulmonary bypass and mechanical circulatory devices, while the practical part will focus on preparing participants and enabling them to implement acquired perfusion theory into clinical areas.

Number of contact hours:

The total theoretical and practicum hours are 450 hours, extended over a nine month period.

  • Theory: 100 hours (8 hours per week, 32 hours per month) for 3.3 months.
  • Clinical: 350 hours; 44 shifts (8 hours per week, 32 hours per month) for 9 months.
